• For example, if you are an Operations Manager or a Project Engineer and you are responsible for overseeing new projects, you can enrol onto the Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship.
• Another example is if your team member is an Electrical or a Mechanical Fitter / Supervisor, we can enrol them onto the MOET apprenticeship.

• Yes, this can be done through the annual apprenticeship recruitment process. You can work with your local HR Manager to identify your recruitment needs (including apprentices). This process includes identifying the right development programme, level, pathway, training provider etc, so all the information can be determined prior to the annual early careers recruitment campaign.

• Yes, if their prior learning is in a totally different subject area. This can be examined on a case by case basis, so you can reach out to the Learning & Development Team if you have any queries relating to this.

In order to access the levy funds, the government requires all delegates to:​

• Provide evidence of passing GCSE math's and English to grade C/level 4, or ​
• Ensure that they have passed an equivalent qualification during the apprenticeship (before end-point assessment)​

What happens if a learner cannot provide evidence?​

• For learners who cannot provide evidence of their qualifications, they will complete an online functional skills assessment, followed by a functional skills test to confirm that their Maths and English skills meet the requirement needed to complete the course.
• The functional skills test must be completed in ‘test’ conditions. Typically, this will be undertaken during the first few months of the apprenticeship.
• It is best practice for training providers to ask all delegates to sit a functional skills assessment, even if they provided GCSE evidence.

• If Hiring Managers prefer to work with a local training provider then they should flag this to HR prior to advertising for the position.
• But once the training provider is agreed by HR and Hiring Manager, then we expect successful applicants to attend the apprenticeship with the training provider chosen by Tarmac.

• There is no maximum age. 

• For a new apprentice joining the business, the HR Manager responsible for the vacancy will determine the salary based on the available guidelines before the recruitment process begins.
• For existing staff members enrolling onto apprenticeships for development, there are no implications on the salary or Ts & Cs. For existing staff, and apprenticeship is a development programme funded by the government (as opposed to our internal training budget).

• Earn and learn!! They can do a programme supported by the employer, learn on the job, and apply the theory into practice.
• They can gain a professional qualification at the end.
• They don't have any debt at the end of the programme, because the employer is funding the apprenticeship.
