What are skills development workshops?

We have developed a number of workshops, tools and resources in order for us to have the ability to flex to the development needs of our people outside of formal development programmes.

These are available on request basis via HR once a need has been identified through a IDP conversation with your line manager.

Presentation skills

Overview:

This 1 day workshop enables employees to understand what skills are needed to effectively deliver presentations.

Objectives:

  • Have a clear process for planning and preparing a presentation
  • Explain the key elements and skills required to build an effective presentation
  • Identify the purpose and objectives of the presentation
  • Identify methods of engaging an audience through the use of vocal tone and your personality
  • Consider your own skills whilst presenting and work on development areas
  • Deliver an effective presentation

Train the trainer

Overview:

This 1 day workshop enables Employees to develop their skills to deliver effective training in their job role.

Objectives:

  • Develop a shared understanding of what we mean by training
  • Recognise different ways of encouraging learning
  • Identify key skills required to help people learn
  • Plan for your training session
  • Have successfully practised training
  • Leave feeling more confident and empowered to deliver a session

Taking your people through change

Overview:

This half day workshop is designed to enable Line Managers to effectively take their people through change at work.

Objectives:

  • Manage our People through Change - enabling our teams to adapt to change quickly 
  • Prepare us to manage any change in the business successfully 
  • Help us plan so that new ways of working and ideas run smoothly for our people
  • Use Coaching to support change
  • Identify behaviours in change

Resilience

Overview:

This half day workshop enables line managers to understand what their own level of resilience is and how they can support their teams to understand their resilience level.

Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of your personal resilience and areas for development
  • Be able to recognise the key aspects of a resilient approach
  • Build a personal development objective around being resilient
  • Identify the resilience level of your team and how you can further support them
