Learning in the Flow of Work

Learning doesn't need to be tedious, the most effective learning can be done in the flow of work and can happen every day through bite-size training.

At Tarmac we have three great resources that can help you do this: MindTools, SuccessFactors and Human Focus e-learning platforms.

Tarmac Learning Resources

MindTools is Tarmac's most popular learning resource and is entirely self-directed so you can address your individual development needs in a way that works best for you. Users can search for specific topics using categories such as audio books, videos and expert interviews, which makes the platform ideal for learning in the flow of work. Click HERE to access now.

The Kolb Reflective Cycle

Kolb’s reflective model is referred to as “experiential learning”. The basis for this model is our own experience, which is then reviewed, analysed and evaluated systematically in three stages. Once this process has been undergone completely, the new experiences will form the starting point for another cycle. Learning can be seen as happening in four stages:

  1. We have a concrete experience (we actually experience something).
  2. We reflect on this experience (we review it in our minds).
  3. We draw conclusions about what we learnt from that experience.
  4. We actively try out what we have learned.
