What is Professional Development?

People are the most essential part of our business. Professional development is a set of training programmes and pathways designed to improve the skills, knowledge and behaviour of our people. This is done through a variety of internal and external programmes suitable for people in all areas of the business.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the specific pathway.
For business education pathways, they are funded using the delegate's cost centre. This requires approvals from the Line Manager, HR Manager, Budget Holder and L&D Team.
For Finance Development Programme pathways, these are funded using Tarmac's apprenticeship levy (for eligible staff).
For Commercial Academy, it depends on the specific pathway chosen within the Academy. They could be free, funded through the apprenticeship levy, or funded using local budgets.
